Members of the Auldhouse & Chapelton communities (Two small villages next to where I live) are holding a dance in their local community hall on the 3rd of October. They are looking for suitable raffle and tombola prizes in aid to raising funds for a much needed toddlers play park, as there is not one available at the moment.
This venture began 3 years ago when the council were contacted by concerned residents regarding the lack of an outdoor facility for the children. They agreed that the children from the villages could really benefit from this much needed local amenity.
With the help from South Lanarkshire Council they have sourced £92,000 from VIRIDOR and the RENEWABLE ENERGY FUND (REF). These funds will only be released when a further £4,300 can be raised by the community themselves, or the plan to develop this project will not be able to go ahead.
As many of you are aware these small community's are really struggling in obtaining funding for such needed amenities. So you can only imagine how excited everyone is at the prospects of such a plan coming together.
I'm at Bearsden most weekends and happy to collect donations there, other than that just contact me through Facebook and I will make arrangements to get picked up's. (as long as it is in the Glasgow or East Kilbride areas)
Thank you for your time and any donations received.

Dear All
I am writing on behalf of the Auldhouse and Chapelton Community Council
as we are looking for support
fundraising in aid to reopening our children's play park in Chapelton. This
project has come about as we were approached by concerned residents 3 years ago
regarding the closure of the play park.
Since then we have worked with South Lanarkshire Council and have
received grants from both Viridor and the Renewable Energy Fund (REF) of
approximately £92,000.
We do however require to raise approx £4,300 as our contribution to the
project in order to have the funds released to complete this valuable and
exciting development for our village communities.
The project is for a toddlers play park near the village bowling club
which will encourage positive relationships across the generations of village
residents. Chapelton Bowling Club have
also been very supportive and generous in their support.
We would appreciate any contribution, small or large, to this venture. We have organised a fundraising dance for the
3rd of October in the village and are looking for raffle and tombola prizes or
other items which may be of use at the event.
All donations will be gratefully received and acknowledged.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Ian Ferguson
Chairman"
